Thank you so much lovely. And yes, it's so hard isn't it - we've been so well conditioned by hustle and societal expectations. Lots of unlearning to do around that.
I so enjoyed this little tour of your studio! Especially so as I have a similarly sized space, and am always on the lookout for different ways of organising it. Yours is a wonderful hive of activity!
Oh, you are so sweet - thank you! I feel like it looks like utter chaos, but I refrained from trying to make it look neat before I took the video, haha!
I second what another Barbara wrote that you really have maximized that space! I love seeing other artist's studios. Yours is just perfect. I'm utterly fascinated by the realism of your work, Natalie. It truly takes my breath away every time. I have been in a dry spell as far as painting goes and so it's always good for me to watch videos like yours. Thank you.
My first studio was a tiny spare bedroom when my children were little. I hadn't painted for a while and when I started back up again my body said "no" to oils, turpentine, etc. That broke my heart because I'm not a fan of acrylics. I had to get creative and fell back in love with crayons and such. When my children were in school I got my first "real" studio in the bowels of Detroit. It was in an old dilapidated building with fenced in parking because the neighborhood was sketchy. It was paradise to me. My own space. Now, I live alone in the country and have a barn with a skylight! that I need to get cracking in. I'm weirdly terrified of mice and they have (of course) taken up residence. :( Hope you had a lovely day. Mine is just getting underway. Maybe I should head out to the barn. 🎨 🐁 xo
Oh Barbara! I so loved reading this, imagining you in all these creative spaces, making beautiful creations and a better world along with it. And a barn with a skylight, so amazing! I have a feeling those wee mice may be there to teach you something (or maybe you just need a deterrent studio kitty!)
There's always a lesson from the animals - even the ones we may not embrace wholeheartedly! I'm actually more afraid of being started by a mouse than a bear! Can you imagine? xo
Oh thank you lovely! Not a bodhran, but a round wooden panel chosen indeed to look like a bodhran though! I actually have a class on that piece, and I still love it. And yes! My phone case does have one of my paintings on it - I'm experimenting with how they might look, whether I get them as print on demand products for my shop.
I'm so glad you took time for yourself last week. Amazing how hard that can be to do, permission to rest and stop all the doing for a while.

What a magical space! Thank you for the tour and I'm also glad you took a bit of time for yourself.
Thank you so much for your kind words Genevieve!

Oh thank you my lovely! I am so thankful I inherited my grandmothers gift of being able to fit a stupid amount of stuff into the smallest space!
What an amazingly creative & well-organized use of space, Natalie!
I too hope you're feeling much better, and getting enough rest.

Hope you are on the mend❤️
Thank you my lovely xx

Oh, I can absolutely understand that! I am not particularly fond of cockroaches, and have said before I would rather a snake, lol.
I agree!
