Is there room for an old guyhag in this wild corner? I deeply connect to your project, we seem to be on a very similar trail. And am in awe of how you out it into words. I feel this wild gathering. I am working on it, willing it into existence, giving it space, time, attention. Would love to connect and exchange some of this energy.
Being on a very tight budget I can’t be a paying subscriber yet... (although I pledge to tether every tenth paying subscriber to an artist I long to support) I do want to invite you to my ‘big’ project. A gathering that may be part of the same movement. It’s a story on gatherings. On the festival phenomenon and its deep roots. On how the heart of our culture is in danger of being ripped out. And about what could be done. You’re warm-heartedly invited to my celebration and I would be in for a swop. You an all access backstage pass and me being able to look over your shoulder and linger in your sphere....sure would like that to happen. Let’s enchant the world....
Oh yes Bertus, there is always room for old guyhags here too! I really appreciate all your kind words. Your project sounds so interesting! I am off to check out your Substack, and would love to connect - I will email you after the weekend :)
I wrote a short story called Mother Elm. It is a hybrid work of fiction/non-fiction. It is a mostly true story of how I feel connected, physically and spiritually to an Elm tree I used to climb as a child, even after 6 decades of being apart. If this sounds like something that may be considered for inclusion in your amazing book, I will send it to you. If not, I still cannot wait to see the magic you bring forth. Blessings. Kim Mullen-Kuehl
Oh I would love to read your poem Kim, have you posted it anywhere? Keep it in mind - I will put a bunch of different calls for submission out over the next year, and I would love you to be a part of the story of The Wild Forgotten. So grateful to be connected and walking this wild world together!
Ooh Natalie this is such an incredible, exciting and beautiful idea, I don’t even dare think that I might be so fortunate to be included in your Wild Gathering book but it is my hope...
The poem you wove from our words, I have read over and over, for me it will remain always a very special piece of writing but to think that you are now to make a book...
I have goosebumps!
I am smiling in anticipation of something even more special!
But now I must speak of money, the one thing I hate to do because I have so little... I would love to upgrade, I would love to support this magical project in EVERY way but quite simply, it is not possible at present.
Dearest Susie, your support here is so very welcome. Call outs for participation for The Wild Forgotten book will also take place in the free subscription, and I have no doubt you'll be a part of the project. The Wild Gathering will always be there if you're able to down the road, but there will still be a lot of free content. No fear of missing out around here! I so appreciate you xx
Natalie, I am getting chills just thinking about this. Thanks to you, I got involved in Amy Won’s Wonder Walking kickstarter because this year has been about moving slower, unlearning the productivity hustle (can I share how I wrestled with how unhappy I was that my planner is looking so empty this week?) and regrounding myself into this land and the reckoning that also comes with it (being descended from settlers and convicts).
I’m an annual subscriber but when I’m back to a computer I am going to see if I can upgrade.
The invitations look just delicious and I am glad we are moving slowly because daily even weekly is too much for me right now.
Finally, EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Squealing in delight like a rainbow lorikeet!!!
Oh my dearest Leanne, this makes me so very happy to read! And I'm so glad you found Amy, I've loved her work for many years, and she's a delightful human being. OMG unlearning hustle and the constant need to "produce" as self worth - it feels like a life's work (and I suppose I've had a life being well practised AT IT, so I guess it will take a while to unravel). I'm so glad we're connected and walking this wild world together!
This is so exciting, Natalie! I am really, reasly, really hoping to be part of your book. I think it's a sensational idea 😊 thank you for sharing the idea with us.
However, I've just taken the big leap to step away from full time paid work, so I'm dealing with all the financial fears you mention! In the next few weeks I'll get my head around it all and make some financial plans, to see where I have options for subscriptions.
In the meantime, I will engage with the pieces you've shared freely!
Oh Debs, you don't nee to be a paid subscriber to be a part of the book project - I will also put some call outs and collaboration requests in the free subscriptions too. I want this project to be inclusive! Paid subscriptions, for those who are able to do so, receive the added bonus of The Wild Gathering as a little something special, and some other perks, but everyone is welcome to participate :)

Oh, I am so appreciative of your very kind words Luisa, and I hope you can dip in and play when you have the room to do so! So honoured to be walking this wild world with you x

“As above, so below. As within, so without.”
From the Emerald Tablet, circa 3000 BCE.
“May the Sacred Spirit bring you Love and Joy for your eternal existence.”
That is my intention for you and for the wild, wild World….

Aloha & Mahalo nui loa Natalie,
May the Sun radiate warm energy to you by day.
May the Moon softly restore you by night.
May cool Rain wash away anxiety, pain, and suffering.
May fresh Wind blow new strength into your divine Soul.
May you walk gently through the World and know its beauty, and wonder all the days of your LIFE…
A poetic prayer from Lantern Inn, aka Larry Inn.
This is so very lovely - thank you for sharing Larry!

Oh, OK, thanks for clarifying! That's amazing, I'm in. My experience of participating in the poem was extraordinary.
I obviously didn't read your post properly - it's still early here 😂
But I'd still like to try and support you and the project, if I can.
I am so grateful for you Debs 🙏❤️
So exciting, Natalie! I just know you’ll make this a thing of beauty and wild wonder!
Thank you dear Jo, I am so very appreciative of your kind words and support!
Yesssss Natalie yes!!!
Ahhh! Thank you my friend!
