On her YouTube channel, (Yoga with) Adrienne frequently begins her yoga practices by admitting that coming to the mat is the hardest part. How true it is! I’ve laid yoga aside for now, but I often remind myself of this fact whenever I feel that resistance, that pull to procrastinate. If I just show up—I’ve done the hardest part. Cheers to you!

I love that 10 second technique! I resist for 90 seconds and then I switch, voila ❤️😊

Natalie, your post is perfect. I am at my desk with assignments for some studies I'm doing, and the resistance feels like I'm trying to walk through thick mud...your words are helping. Looking forward to seeing what you do with your brushes...

Oh, this is so recognizable. I often start nesting ... cleaning up, before I finally sit down and pick up my brushes. I hope you've find your courage!

So relatable. I am committed to sketching in wild beginnings every Saturday. This Saturday I felt the resistance because I now know how long it's going to take and how much practice and work to even begin to draw something that resembles the wild beings I want to represent. Really I just like the discipline of looking so closely in order to attempt to draw them! But my inner kids and I had to have a talk because they're not sure I'm not going to flake out on the whole project. They've been to this rodeo before they say. I say back to them, I am working on getting to a daily practice. Eyebrows are lifted. We'll believe it when we see it. Silly but true. Anyway, this post was quite timely for this beginning sketcher. Courage artist! I hope you got down to play and paint.
