What you say here is so, so true, Natalie. Arting, whether it ne drawing, painting, sketching are all equally valid forms of Creativity. They all or any feed the soul. In Hedgerow they feed the wildsoul and nurture the wildheart.

I realise I saw this late, so the protal is now closed, but it is still a portal worth putting on your radar for the next time the brambles are parted and the way in is opened up. I can say without hesitation that arting, and especially arting with you, Natalie, and the other amazing women artists who inhabit the Hedgrow Community has changed my life. It has opened up wonder and delight that I didn't even know I was missing until I found it.

I am an artist. I grew up (in the late 50s and 60s) with an artist father - who struggled and in the years I was growing up a working mother was not as common as it is now. Even though we didn't have a lot of the stuff others had we had art around us all the time. The studio was a refuge and haven. It made up for the fact that because I lived in an apartment with a father who painted people in a medium sized town in east central Indiana and other kids were nor allowed to come and play with me (nor was I invited to play with them at their home). I spent most of my time not at school in that space. I never did art, but I certainly learned a lot, and some of it has helped me with the art I do now.

We all need our own and each other's art now. We need it for our sanity. We need it because it teaches us that when we see the beauty of the world around us and those beings with which we share it we are much more likey to advocate for it and them and each other..

Bravo, Natalie, for reminding us that monetising art doesn't make it more art or more worthy of our respect and honouring. I celebrate your calling and I am humbled and proud to be learning with you.
