From the very first paragraph I resonate. I live in the mountains in New Zealand and am also feeling a relief that we are in now in Autumn. A slower pace, a layering up ( as you say), a quietening. It fits with where I am at in my life now. "I can work on acceptance and surrender without gaslighting or belittling, and plot my own path forward." 🙏 Thank you.
beautiful! i wholeheartedly agree to this idea of layers. you have listed so many lovely things that are layered like lasagna, the layers of noise and silence, trees are grown in layers, the soil, love can be built in layers, and let's not forget the glorious croissant or layered cookies bars, life itself is layered (and gorgeous). mm, mmmm!! xo

I love that you eat apple and sultana sandwiches- my dear mama used to do this with dark brown sugar and cinnamon too… I’m filled with nostalgie..! And I know what we will have for supper too..!
