Your words remind me why I create. It feels like I’m reading my own thoughts, only they’re in your voice, in your cadence. In the last year I have “discovered” the language of birds, having lived closed to the ocean and seeing pelicans, herons, terns, gulls, and ospreys daily when I walked outside. They’re beautiful, aren’t they? A reminder of what money can’t ever buy: diversity, balance, attunement to the seasons, and grace. I haven’t drawn in years, but I drew a heron tonight...I’m rusty but I look forward to creating more. Thank you for the inspiration, Natalie!

Your words remind me of Terri Windling, of her insistence on the necessity of creative work, and of paying attention to beauty as real and essential work in the world. Thanks for the reminder.

Precisely why I watch and illustrate birds - my spirit feels the expansiveness of their flight and for a moment in my imagination and on paper I can borrow the weightless purpose of flying. It's a bit of respite. I'm thinking of you and your family and hoping for your brother's continuing recovery. xo

“There is an undercurrent of hope lost.”

If I may, I’d like to gift you with a ray of hope. I am an artist too- i play with the waves and vibrations that make music, swirling them together in an order that resonate as light & love. I’d like to share a song I wrote specifically to bolster our light in a world full of shadows. ❤️

This is beautiful.

Something I've learned with meditation that sustains me, is the concept of blue sky. When our days are dark and clouds lay heavy in our minds, there is always blue sky. The clouds are not permanent.

All of this heaviness will pass. It always does. We have been here before. It will pass.

Sending you good thoughts your tests reveal nothing that can't be treated.

Yes! Lisa! Thank you for that reminder. As Pema Chodron says, you are the sky, everything else is just weather. Thank you for your kind wishes xo

I too have turned off my news channel, the radio stays silent in the car... we seem to be moving toward a very dark place and your words ‘moving towards an undercurrent of no hope’ ring too loudly Natalie... we all want them to stop. And I think so many of us turn to the freedoms of nature to find solace... thank you for your beautiful words lovely lady... may your day be blessed with beauty and light be it in the sky or on earth. Much love 🧡🍂xx
