Thank you. Your words are magical and couldn't have come at a more needed moment. You've helped to lighten the sadness and gird the madness so that I'm able to see beyond the ugly we are capable of. I often feel that as a species we fail. But you remind me that that's not necessarily true, at least not all the time. You are a source of light and love.
I just found this Natalie - and your words are powerful here, and poetic. What you say is so deeply felt by you, it is honest and true and so filled with compassion and love for all who are creatives in these dangerous times. I reminds me of - I think it was a cellist, who played everydayamid the rubble of Serajevo when it was at war. An act of defiance and resistance and beauty. You are calling those of us who can take up pen, pencil, or brush and lay down line or shape on paper or canvas to do so, when we can do because doing so is powerful and empowering. is so affirming and comforting. Also, that you say doing this is essential is also so affirming and comforting. That to do art is not frivolous or a waste of time. It is, in part, what the time we have been given is to be used for. Thank you for your words and your witness.
