This is such a lovely post, Natalie. It captures so well your experience of being in Tas and of what you gained and gave there. Because whilst you gained so much from you encounters with the wildones, your presence also gave to them a know - somehow, somewhere deep in their wild psyche - there are humans who care and want to celebrate and honour them.
I look forard to meeting the new Hedgies as they find their way to and into Hedgerow. By the way, I tried the find out more button and nothing came up except a bigger version of what houses the button. Thought you might want to know.
Rich blessings as you unpack and integrate all the wonder you found during your time in Tasmania.
Beautiful words, and what a beautiful time in Tasmania! I would love to visit there someday. How you connect with the earth and her beings is both inspiring and heartwarming to read. Natalie, you are a rare, beautiful person and I am so lucky to be here! Though I've not yet carved the time out to become active in Hedgerow and The Wild Sketchbook (due to an intense writing course that will end soon), I am so looking forward to beginning both journeys. Also, I will listen to the podcast.
So good to hear from you Jenny! Tasmania is just such a beautiful place, such a wonder. I hope your writing course has been going well, I would love to hear about it! ❤️
Thank you for asking, Natalie! The course has been 10 months long, and has been a great learning opportunity. I've written sporadically over the years, but would like to pursue it more seriously, so I decided to learn more about the craft. The website for the course is here: https://www.theforgewriting.com
My realms of writing are creative nonfiction (mostly nature and of the land) and I have also become interested in magical realism as related to land based writing. One of reasons I have joined your wonderful space is I would like to learn to draw so I can make little books with writings and drawings. Your writing is a joy to read✨💛
Thank you so much for sharing that site Jenny, I look forward to checking it all out! And I love that you want to create your own drawings and illustrations for your writing - I think there are a few of us inside Hedgerow that would love to do that, and I am so here to celebrate and cheer us all on in that pursuit!!!
