This is so beautiful, Natalie. Both your words and your art are exquisite. I have a little owl sitting on my kitchen window ledge. She looks remarkably real. A couple of months ago, I just happened (luckily) to be standing in front of the window when I saw a huge bird swoop right by the window, down low. It happened so fast that I couldn't tell what it was. But I saw that it had landed in a tree out front, so I grabbed my binoculars and sure enough, it was an owl! Of course, it was. :)

I will never take for granted these sightings or even just the sounds that I'm blessed to be able to hear from my little home in the country. The bears have woken up from their winter slumber and are out and about. I'm like you - I feel that there's never enough time to learn about the incredible animal beings that inhabit planet Earth. 🦉💚

Very beautiful.

Here's my homage to the magic of connection influenced by a career in laboratories where I learnt very little! https://georgiedonny.substack.com/p/a-tiny-water-flea-has-31000-genes
